Built to exude a contemporary ambience with a touch of Japanese elegance, this site reflects the exquisiteness of plush Japanese fine dining. It adopts a no-page scroll structure, and has no Flash components – yet animated – to stay mobile-friendly to the iPhone, iPad and more. The key challenge of this project is bringing the restaurant’s image and atmosphere online, besides providing restaurant’s information and online reservation. A CMS site driven by the WordPress engine, it will be localised into Japanese and Chinese in the near future.

This microsite is built to accentuate the theme, “Experience the best of Bali in 5 exclusive packages”, as an integral marketing platform to increase bookings and revenue. The website’s design echoes villa’s architectural flair with its minimalist style that offers a clean, contemporary feel. A gallery and video showcase of the villa further entices the reader spectacular views. A pure HTML site with no Flash elements, it is search engine optimized. The webpages are animated yet mobile-friendly, making them suitable for browsing on the iPhone and iPad.

Adopting a magazine-style approach, the design incorporated pullout quotes peppered throughout the website. The images used showcase people in realistic daily-life settings, avoiding staged shots and glamorous images. The website’s new look exudes a commercial feel, shedding off the stiff, scholarly image of an institution, yet staying informative as the portal of an educational establishment. It readily tells the reader at first glance what the Centre offers. The work encompasses conceptualization, design, development and the creation of a CMS. A programme calendar is configured for comprehensive archiving of publications, which can be sorted by year.

Working together with agency partner Publicis for the client Kheng Leong, we formulate the design concept based on the idea three worlds the condominium creates for its residents. An extension to the project’s print collaterals, the website’s look and feel captivates its audience through sound and interaction.

Search engine marketing is another contributing factor towards the success in marketing this project.
